Activities at our Reunion

Thurs., Oct 22, 2009 - For those of you that are in town and would like to get the weekend started. Meet at the lobby bar at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on the lsland (it used to be the Coronado Hotel) for drinks and an early Hello. 8pm till you are ready to go home or back to your room. (there won't be any name tags to clue you in on who's who, Good luck!)

Friday, Oct 23, 2009 - Pep rally at the CHS Gym. Rally starts at 7:45 a.m. so be there around 7:30 a.m. to get a good seat and say hi to your friends that have arrived. The school is not sure if it will be outside in the statium or in the gym yet. So, please keep checking the choctaw69.org site for updates in the next few weeks. Name tags should be there for us so we will be able to recognize each other! After the pep rally we will be honored with a reception in the school by the school staff and will be given a tour of the school. I am told that there will be 3 alumni groups there this year. Should be fun!

F riday, Oct 23, 2009 - Coach Wyman Townsel Brunch - Joe and Eddies, (new location) 400 North Eglin Parkway, 10:30 a.m. (across from Goofy Golf) - Coach Townsel is our Guest of Honor this year. We are happy to be honoring him with a brunch at the new Joe and Eddies. We would like to share our memories with Coach Townsel and let him know what he meant to us. This brunch is open to all the past football players that played under him, not just our '69 group and their families and friends. Everyone is invited that would like to say 'Thanks'. So, get your Wyman and football stories ready to share! Pass the word. Everyone will be responsible for their own bill. We will go to Joe and Eddies after the tour of the school. We are shooting for 10:30 a.m. See you there. (Need to wear name tags)

Friday Evening, Oct 23, 2009 - 5:30 p.m. We are all gathering for the Pre game parade in the CHS stadium in lieu of a tailgate party (too much to fit in). Wyman will be riding in a corvette convertable. The past football players, wearing their football jackets or jerseys (whichever fit), will walk behind Coach Townsel in the parade.(I am sure the press will be there to see this!) Those in the parade need to be there by 5:30 p.m. on the North side of the stadium and the parade starts at 6:00 p.m. Our class will have a designated place in the bleachers for the class of 1969. Look for the sign.

Friday Night Game, Oct 23, 2009 - Starts at 7:00 p.m. There will be a designated place in the bleachers for our 1969 class to sit. Look for the sign. Tickets can be purchased at the alumni reception in the morning at the school or at the gate. Wear your green and white. Go Big Green! (Come get your name tags from whoever is handing them out. Make sure and ask)

Friday Night After the Game, Oct 23, 2009 - Post game party at 'Howl at the Moon' restaurant and bar, at the old wayside location on the island. This is all very informal. We gathered there after the game for the 30th reunion and had fun visiting. Wear your name tags so we can recognize each other.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 - 11:30 am (In place of the 'picnic' of reunions past) We will get together for lunch and a cold beer at Angler's Restaurant on the Island just past (east of) the Gulfarium. If you are staying at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel you could walk to Anglers on the beach from the Hotel. Everyone is responsible for their own lunch and drinks. Again, if you got your name tag at the pep rally or at the game on Friday night, make sure you wear it.

Saturday Night, Oct. 24, 2009 - The Class of 1969, 40th reunion Party! Sign in starts at 6:30 p.m. Pick up your name tags if you dont have it by now. Din ner starts at 7:00 p.m , DJ starts 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.) Party will continue till we are done! Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Okaloosa Island, in the Palm Room (this hotel used to be the Coronado Hotel in the 60's, remember?) Follow the sign to the party. Dress is 'Nice Resort Casual'. Buffet dinner, lots of visiting and catching up with each other, music and dancing, No Host Bar (you pay for your own drinks).

Sunday Oct 25, 2009 - We are all on our own. If you need to say your good byes to past classmates, don't forget to make your plans. Otherwise, safe travels to all and we will see you at the 50th!!

One last note : Be preparded for a fun filled weekend which means we will be getting a little less sleep than we usually do. (it's only once every 10 years) Please keep us updated as to email changes over the next 10 years so it will be easier to contact everyone. Check our choctaw69.org site every once in a while for news about up coming events or up dates about our classmates. Thanks. We are looking forward to seeing you all soon.
