CHOCTAWHATCHEE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969

Richard Jensen

After Choctaw I went to OWJC and after getting my AA in Public Relations went on to FSU for a BA in Government. I was commissioned out of the AFROTC as a second Lieutenant and sent to Grand Forks, North Dakota. I married Sheryl Everett from the class of 1970 just after graduating from FSU. While in the Air Force, I received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota.

After we got out of the AF in 1975, Sheryl and I moved back to Ft Walton Beach and she started teaching at Meigs and I was the Manager of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Office in the old Barnett Bank building. In 1978 I joined the faculty of the University of West Florida as the Assistant Director of the Small Business Development Center but after one year and not making enough money to raise a family, I went back into insurance. We moved to Orlando in 1979. Sheryl and I adopted a daughter in 1981 and divorced in 1982. Our daughter is now 21 and in college studying to be a neo-natal nurse. I continued in Insurance until 1986 until I became an International Stock Broker.

In 1988 I became a National Speaker traveling all over the country teaching financial strategies to the masses. Being on the road took it's toll and I went to work for the government as the Director of Economic Development for several counties in Florida. In January of 2001 I once again took to the road as a public speaker and that's what I do today. From 1990 until 2001 I also was an Adjunct Professor of Ethics at a local Community College.

Today I live in Lake Mary, Florida, which is a northern suburb of Orlando and travel about 3 weeks out of the month teaching business and speaking to groups about business opportunities. I'm single and own a telecommunications marketing business besides my Speaking business. If you are ever coming to Disney let me know and we'll see if we can get together.
