CHOCTAWHATCHEE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969

Jim Farmer

I had a great time at Choctaw and have many fond memories of my time there. After leaving Choctaw, I went to Boggy Tech for a year. I followed my parents to McGuire AFB in NJ for one year. I attended Newark College of Engineering for 1 year. NCE is now called New Jersey Instituite of Technology. I found life in New Jersey hard. I was mugged in the subways of Newark after school one night and two days later I was robbed at gun point while working as a night auditor at a Holiday Inn in Bordentown NJ. Both of these took place in my first 30 days while living there. I dropped my night classes, enrolled in Karate Classes and muddled through the year. I decided it was time to go elsewhere.

I registered at Georgia Tech and finished up my degree in Electrical Engineering. I continued to work at Tech for another 5 years in the computer center. I enjoyed my work there and have a number of friends from that time.

While at Georgia Tech I married Claire Peterson. We have 4 children and live and work in the Atlanta area. Claire returned to teaching this fall as a special ed teacher and I continue as a captive consultant for SuperiorEssex in Atlanta, Ga. My family and I enjoy movies, swimming, and travel. Tiffany is a senior at University of Georgia(english), Amber is a sophmore at Georgia Southern(Special Ed), Devin is a Senior in the Performing arts program at Pebblebrook HS(www.cccepa.com) , and Corwin is in the 8th grade.
