CHOCTAWHATCHEE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969

Brian Bateman

I'm working at the Kennedy Space Center as a Systems Engineer, where I've been for quite a while. Right now, I'm working on a project to replace all of the computer systems that process and launch the Space Shuttle. The equipment currently filling that role is of 1970's vintage--amazing that it still works and, surprisingly, it's been a challenge to meet some of it's performance, even with modern technology. Over the years since high school, I've managed to stay interested in photography and still do some weddings. I've been a private pilot since 1977 but haven't flown for a few years now--too expensive. About 5 years ago, I was talked into trying ballroom dancing...eeeek, thought I'd never do that. It's been lots of fun, though, and wish I'd have started much earlier in life. There's a younger crowd in Orlando that enjoys ballroom dancing.
