CHOCTAWHATCHEE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969
John Motil
After I left Choctaw went to U of Scranton in PA. Had a scholarship to U of
Florida in baseball and basketball but my parents thought I was too young
to cut the umbilical cord. After college played for the Detroit Tigers for
4 years mostly AAA then blew out my pitching arm.
Went into social services, Boys Club, United Way for 25 years then retired
but now am doing non-profit consulting for most of the health agencies in
the country i.e Cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, MS, MD etc.
Didn’t start having kids until I was 43 and now have 14 and 12 year
old girls. Keeps you young.
Met my wife, Cindy, here in Edmond, Oklahoma just north of OKC. Been married
15 years.
Don’t know if I will be able to attend the re-union. My schedule, mostly
my girls stuff, will dictate that. They are into swimming, volleyball, basketball,
soccer, girl scouts and make it a point to be at all their events.
